Moving to New Computer

I have a legitimate copy of XP Pro which has been installed on an older
computer. I've scrubbed (security overwritten) the hard drive on that
machine and it's being donated.
I wish to install my XP Pro on a new computer. (fresh install on a virgin
hard drive). Am I going to run into trouble during registration since this
has already been installed? What do I need to do to avoid problems?

AFAIK:

If it is a retail XP Pro, no problem. When it fails online validation,
use the free phone number and Microsoft will do the rest.

If it is a volume licence, no problem.

doesnt allow for that...Although xp will install, registering it is not
possible..

Andrew E thats only if it's OEM. Retail and volume license should install
and activate fine.

If it is retail, it will not be a problem. OEM versions are tied to the
original system it is installed to. Registering is optional, activation is
manadatory. Retail versions will not be a problem, OEM versions will.
Sell or transfer XP to new computer.

Thanks for the help. It is a retail version and installation was not as
difficult as I anticipated.
