Moving the Titles?

Hi,

I am new to movie maker and was just wondering if when you add a title to a
clip, is there a way to move the title to the top, bottom or sides so as not
to interfere with the picture?

Also, how would I go about getting a different background screen for the
titles rather than a plain coloured screen? (ie., scenery background)

Thanks

Hello,

Your options are VERY limited in Movie Maker....you can use the Left,
Central or Right Align option for the text which sort of controls where the
text is along the horizontal axis. With regard to the vertical axis there
are few options...Basic and Subtitle are stationary displays and the you
have the "Star Wars" perspective effect.

To gain full control of your text in all three axes you would need a
program like MovieXone which would allow you to position the video on the
left or right and then put your text along side it. You will find MovieXone
on cover disks of magazines like PC Utils

you can do left/right/center alignment (in the font area where you change
colors, font) - no top or bottom.

You can do the text over your movie instead of a plain color by moving the
title from the video track to the title/overlay track at the bottom of the
timeline.
