I know this sounds moronic, but I can't figure out how to
get my task bar back on the bottom of the screen, instead
of the side of the screen. HELP

First, right click on it and unlock it. Then just click and hold the mouse
button and drag it to the bottom, then right click and lock.

Although by default the task bar appears on the bottom of the
screen, it can be on any of the sides you prefer it on. To move
it from any side to another, simply click on an unused part of it
and drag it where you want it.

If it won't move, it may be locked. In that case, right click on
it and uncheck "Lock the taskbar," then try again.

R-click in it and make sure that 'Lock the task bar' is not checked
(click it if it is). Then with the left button put down in an
unoccupied bit of the bar, drag the cursor to the center bottom of the
screen - a dotted line will appear across, and when you release, the bar
will snap back there
