Moving the Mouse Deactivates the Active Window

tion. Asking on behalf of a friend, so I don't have all the details as to PC
brand, configuration.

Friend has laptop. For no known reason, moving the mouse has begun
deselecting the active window. When multiple windows are opened, clicking a
window makes it active. However, as soon as the mouse is moved off that
window, that window is no longer active.

We have checked Control Panel-Mouse, Folder options, Accessibility and find
nothing that could cause this behavior. I have asked friend to check for
vendor supplied customization software on the laptop. Any other ideas? We're
baffled.

I think somebody's turned on X-mouse. I suspect tweakui is on his
computer already... try Start/Run tweakui, or check for a "Powertoys"
etc. folder on All Programs, but if not Google tweakui, install it from
Microsoft, run it. The setting you want is in Mouse/X-Mouse.

Jim - I suspect you are correct. Last night, I remembered my friend mentioned
TweakUI in our conversation. I downloaded and installed it and saw the X
Mouse option. I sent a note to my friend and asked him to see if he had
turned that feature on. haven't heard yet, but I'll bet you are correct in
your analysis. Thanks you very much for responding.
