Moving Share folders to a new set of disks

I want to move share folders to a a new set of disks in the same server as I
want to increase space. The old disks are to taken out of the server and
kept in case of emergencies. The new disks are going to added to the
server. The server has all the home and file share directories. I am going
to image the C drive of the old disk and then mirror it back on the c drive
of the new disk and then i am going to restore the home and file shares from
the last back on the new disk. Will these procedure work in terms of moving
share folders to a new set of disks. Will this create the shares and keep
the same security on the server. Also the old server had the home and file
shares on the same partition, would it be possible to put the home and file
shares in different partitions on the new disks and still keep the same
share and security structure. Can anyone advise.

You can use XCOPY with the /O and/or /X options to move the ACL/Audit
settings along with the copied files. First remove the existing shares (note
the locations and rights), copy all folders, and recreate the shares on the
new disk/partition.
