I am running RRAS on an older box running windows 2000
advance server. I need to move this service to a new
server/hardware, is there a way to backup the RRAS
configuration and restore it on the new server? I tried
backing up the system state of the RRAS server and
restoring on a test server but it crashes the server I
had to restore the system state on the test server back
to the original config.

Any ideas or suggestion?

Thanks,
~ David

You can use the 'netsh dump' command to backup the RRAS configuration to a
file and restore it back by the 'netsh exec' command.
However, the port properties configuration, router type are not written to
the dump.

If you are using demand dial interfaces, save the original RRAS server's
router phonebook, which is found at %Windir%\System32\Ras\Router.pbk and
copy it to the same location on the new server.
