moving pictures from disc to vista picture folder

thanks david for the reply. I don't know how to answer the reply except
repost. Meanwhile, I sent to disc, my pictures from windows 2000. Now when I
run the disc, in the new computer, there is no choices. Example, windows 2000
gives a choice of where to move pictures from disc. I simply choose
documents, then subfolder pictures, then enter, it's done. Vista has no such
easy way. I don't know the meaning of copy paste, thats not an option. I'm
lost.

I am describing my Vista Ultimate. Your situation may be different but still
analogous.

Start>>All Programs>>Windows Photo Gallery>>You will see Windows Media
Player with some directory trees in the left pane.

Next you open Windows Explorer, place your cursor on any picture file you
want and DRAG it to the Windows Photo gallery.

Now, I haven't done it but I am pretty sure you should be able to do it: If
your pictures are arranged in folders, you can drag whole folders pretty
much the same way.

You should end your drag in the left pane on the top where the word Pictures
is located. It is a folder in C:\users\yourName\documents\. Vista will not
allow you to drop it in the wrong place: you will see a "Not Enter" symbol
like on the road when you try to turn the wrong way.
