Moving or assigning a message to an event?

David

As a brand new user to Outlook, I'm smack dab in the middle of a learning
curve... Here's what I'd like to do. I get an e-mail that requires action
today as well as a follow up in a couple of months, so I need to somehow put
it in a "tickler file" with an alarm.

I'm looking for a quick & easy way to accomplish the above without having to
copy & paste info between the message an an appointment or a task, and then
be able to either move the message to a folder or delete it altogether. I'm
not seeing any tools or options for what I want to do. Am I missing
something?

Thanks,

David...

You're missing this secret function: right mouse drag the email to the Tasks
folder. Choose "move here as Task with attachment". That's a virtual
paperflow move!!!!

In your calendar set the taskpad setting (view/taskpad view/active tasks for
selected days). Always make tasks with start dates and then this setting
will show your current tasks to do in your taskpad. If you need to see all
tasks (current, future, complete) click on your Tasks folder.

Working off a list of current tasks is better than using interruptions
(reminders) to focus you on what you have to do today!

Thanks Judy,

Exactly what I was looking for. I'm beginning to see some potential in
Outlook :)
