How do I move the My Documents folder to another drive
other than C: drive?

How do I setup Windows XP so that when I access My
Documents or My Computer, that when the icon for My
Documents shows up, it will automatically go to the other
drive?

The reason that I am asking is that I am running out of
space on my C: drive, but I have a very large D: drive.

While I know how to access all of the drives, I would
like to find out to setup my files so that I can also
take advantage of the existing features of the XP
operating sys without having to use the explorer all the
time.

Thanks much ....

Open a My computer window on
C:\Documents and Settings\you
to show My Documents, and another on the drive where you want to put it.
Then with the *right* mouse button down, drag the folder across, and on
release take *Move* here. This will move the files and set up the
registry so it points to the new place.

(Note: if you do it for other users, have separate folders that you put
their individual My Docs into; don't try to have them overlap - so have
D:\John\MyDocs; D:\Mary\My Docs and so on).
