HI! I want to move the Inetpub dir to a larger partition and away from my
boot drive. is there a desired way of doing this? should I use Explorer?

HI! I was told that It was not necessary to have Inetpub. I used the IIS
manager to change the location of my webs home dirs to the drive that I
wanted.

I do have another question though.

I moved the my sites to and the default web to another drive and assign the
in the IIS manager the new home dirs. alls ok now. but one thing. I tried to
move the Inetpub for now ( Before actually deleting it) and I could not move
catalog.wci. I get an error message that its being used. I stopped all the
webs and the smtp folders in the manager. is there something else I need to
disable?

Paul.

You need to delete the catalogue from Index Services:
Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management

Expand the tree for "Services and Applications", then expand "Indexing
Service"
Right click on the catalogue (probably named "Web", but may be
different) and choose delete. Make sure you are deleting the correct
catalogue. (Use properties to see the location.)

When you have moved the sites, you must create a new catalogue for the
default site.
