You can't. IMAP messages remain on the server and the folders you see are
contained in a cache that merely reflects the folder structure on the
server.
You can create a rule that will do that. In OL2003: Tools > Rules &
Alerts > Email Rules > New Rule
- Start from a blank rule
- Check messages when they arrive
- * Don't choose any condition * you will have to confirm that rule will
be applied to all incoming messages
- Action: move a copy to the specified folder (and choose folder)
- add exceptions & any more details if necessary

I think, too, that you will have to select the option in the Send/Receive
group that downloads the entire message, rather than just the header in
order for the rule to work.

Interesting. I have an exchange server at work with OL2003 and I didn't
check any options on the send/receive and my rules work just fine.
However, I haven't used rules with my IMAP servers...are the
send/receive options specifically for POP/IMAP servers? I figured if
you say "check messages when they arrive" and then you ask for a copy to
be sent to a folder, it would have to download the entire message anyway.
Of course not. We were speaking of IMAP accounts, nor Exchange accounts.

Rules generally operate on the body of the message. If you have the IMAP
account set up to download only the headers, I don't think the rules can
operate.
Anyway, as I said, I haven't tested it, only got this impression from other
postings I've read here, so it could be incorrect.
