Moving email to Perosnal Folders

We are using Outlook 2000 SR-1 on an Exchange server. I had several
Personal Folders and a series of Rules to move incoming emails to the
appropriate folders. Yesterday, I added a few new folders to the Personal
Folders and a couple of rules using the Rules Wizard.
Now the Personal Folders stopped working. I cannot drag & drop email
from the inbox to a Personal Folder - I get the message "Can't move the
items. The item could not be moved. It was either already moved or deleted,
or access was denied". When a new email arrives, the Organize Rules try to
move it and returns a message " Rules in Error. Cannot move to the "News
Items" folder".
I'm sure I inadvertantely changed something or re-set a paraameter.
All I did with the Properties was to delete the Home Page reference. Does
anyone have any suggestions for how I can open the Personal Folders for new
emails?
Thanks very much -

What size is the pst-file?

Note that you are also behind in updating. SP3 + additional hotfixes are out
for quite a number of years already ;-)

The .pst file is 1,904,672kb as of this morning. I tried deleting a few
older folders to see if that helped before I posted the issue - no luck. It
was working as late as Tuesday morning before I changed the rules and added a
few new folders. I'm thinknig I accidentally changes a parameter or setting
in the properties, but I can't figure out which one. Any suggestions for
what I should look at??

I know, I know - the corporate I/T group is a bit slow with the
updates; the last one was to add Enterprise Vault a year ago. What am I
gonna do??

Your pst-file is reaching/has reached its maximum size. Because of this it
is already in a "locked" state or has generated a corruption. Make a backup
of the file and use scanpst.exe to scan it for errors. If that fails use;
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=296088

After that start with a clean pst-file; this one is full.
