Moving email account info to new profile

Paula Billups

I am using Windows XP Pro, OE 6.0 and OL 2002. My user
profile has become corrupted and I have created a new
profile and copied the user data to the new user profile.
However, this process does not copy the email settings
and accounts. Thus, when I open OE or OL 2002, it does
not contain my mail accounts, folders and settings. What
is the best way to have the new profile access the old
profiles email account settings?

Will I have to export from old profile to the new profile?

the account profiles are stored in the registry. For OE, export the account
data as an iaf. For OL, it's better to recreate the accounts since it
doesn't support exporting.

You could try Office save my settings wizard, but I'm not sure if the Office
XP version does outlook profiles or not.

Winxp's file and transfer wizard does too much and you can't select just
Outlook/OE - plus if the windows account was damaged, it could copy the
damaged data to the new account.
