Moving Certain eMails Sent Out

Hi,

I know how to make the rule that ""Says"" it'll move emails I send to a
certain folder, but what actually happens is that Outlook only ""copies"" the
sent email to the folder and it still leaves the original in the "Sent Items"
folder. Not only that, but when it does copy the email to the designated
folder, that email is also marked as a "New unread" email.

How in the world do I stop this from happening? How can I make it to where
it really does move the sent email to the folder and how do I get it to not
be marked as unread?

Any Help Would Be Extremely Wonderful.
Frustrated Outlook User,
Rob

You have a couple of options. First, if you have Outlook 2002 or 2003, you
can click Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail Options and check the
box labeled "In folders other than the INbox, save replies with original
message". This will cause the "Save copies of mesages in Sent Items folder"
option to place the saves items in the folder with the original message, if
that message was in a folder other than Inbox.

Second, you can disable the option to save sent items and the rule you
mention will become a move and not a copy.
and how do I get it to not be marked as unread?

If you use a rule to put outgoing messages in folders, you can't.

For our services email account, I have created a folder under the Inbox. This
folder is for keeping a copy of all incoming / outgoing messages for
historical record.

On my personal email account, I have added the services email account to the
folder list, created the same rule, and it works fine.

However, when I create a rule within the services email account, then create
the same rule within my personal email account, it messes up saving copies of
the sent messages. Even though when I send messages FROM the services account
(logged into my email account), a copy of my personal emails go into the
services sent folder and historical folder.

What am I doing wrong? HELP!
Thank you

historical record.

No way to know that without knowing exactly what you are doing. Post the
exact text of all the rules.

Are you saying you have an account named "Services" and that this is a
Windows username distinct from your usual account name?

Yes it is. The rule you describe says to move a copy of EVERY outgoing
message to the other folder and that's exactly what's happeneing. I don't
understand why you believe this is not correct.

Here you appear to be speaking of incoming messages, but your rules are for
outgoing messages. Moreover, what you have defined in one Windows account
has no bearing on another Windows account. Perhaps I don't understand.
Describe your requirements in detail.
