Had 20G HD with XP SP2,
and just installed an 2nd HD of 160G as additional storage.
Is there a mechanism whereby I can move not only data but also programs onto
the new drive, without having to actually re-install the programs?
That is to say, getting the registry to recognise the move.

Many thanks indeed,

To the best of my knowledge, it is not possible to get 3rd party software
that will assist to move a 'Program File' from one hard drive to another.

You may be better served, simply to move the 'easy' applications such as
Acrobat Reader: by the 'two truck' approach. Uninstall from C Drive and then
reinstall onto D Drive.

I would recommend against moving Office 2003 because of all its updates etc
needing to be reapplied, as well as activation issue; for similar reasons the
same applies to any of Norton's Products.

After you perform the uninstall of applications and 'moving' the 'My
Documents' folder, do yourself a favour and run Disk Defrag on the old and
new drives to improve disk performance.
