MovieMaker (slow)

Hi everyone,

I'm kind of new to Windows moviemaker. Although I have
had XP-Home for quite some time. I just started using
moviemaker. I have all the latest updates my computer has
plenty of power and space. I have a new Sony camcorder.
Last night I transferred a movie I put together back to my
camcorder this took almost four hours for about a 15
minute film.

My question is does it normally take this long for a 15
minute film and if not how come it took so long? I have
all the latest Windows updates available, my camera is new
and my computer works just fine. So if anyone has any
thoughts I would sure appreciate them. Thanks so much for
any help,
Roger

PS: also I don't get any sound when I capture, even though
I don't disable it.

Yes, rendering takes time.... some codecs will render faster than others,
but you'll usually be trading off quality.

And going back to the camera will need to be DV-AVI so you don't have a
choice there.

Not hearing the audio on your computer during a capture session is normal...
you can't turn it on.
