Movie Maker Sound issues

I captured video from my Panasonic Mini DV using DvRaptor
by canopus which saves them as .AVI files. When I import
these into Windows Movie Maker 2 they play just fine, but
when I drag them to the timeline of Windows Movie Maker 2
the sound from the videos become scratchy and metalic
sounding. I wondered if this was just an issue on my PC
so I decided to try importing .AVI files on the computer
at my work that also has Windows Movie Maker 2 on it and
I found that I had the same problem on that computer, so
I am assuming that this could be a known issue. What can
I do about it? I really like the features of WMM2 and
would like to get this resolved. Help!
