Movie Maker slows down when creating

When I'm creating a photo show, it starts slowing down about a song and a
half into creating it. I'm running a 2.08 GHz processor and 1 gig of MB. Is
movie maker limited to the amount of photos and music that can be added? I
was able to do a 3 song long photo show but it was a very slow slow process.
Can it be longer? Thanks, Mesa AZ

What video card and RAM are you running? What else is running in the
background? I have made movies, with a soundtrack, of over fifteen minutes
in length. Movie Maker churns through the video and audio, converting and
processing the files and constructing the movie. This can take some time.

I'm running 128 MB Radeon 9600 pro and there is nothing else running in the
background. Another example: I can selet a photo and drag it down to the
movie and it will take up to 30 to 40 sec. before I can proceed any further.
Thanks for your help.

What is the file size of the photos you are using? A 100 kb image file, in
..jpeg file format, should only take a few seconds at the most before you can
proceed with your next selection. If the file is a huge, high resolution
file, such as those created by modern, multi-megapixel digital cameras, that
is a different matter altogether. Your ATI Radeon 9600 certainly has the
horsepower to handle the necessary image manipulation and the 2.08 GHZ
processor and 1 GB of main system memory are also adequate.

Kevin, Sorry I've not been in touch, work is busy. In answer to your
question, I checked some of my photo files and what I found was some large
files. Some photo's were as much as 894 KB for one single scanned paper
photo. All of the paper photo's was scanned on a 2110 HP all in one printer.
If this seems to be my problem, how can I resolve it? Also my digital photos
are as much as 1.17 MB Thanks again for your help.
