movie maker continues to freeze

i have imported many clips (65) to use for a movie.
however, after placing anything on the storyboard and
trying to do something with it, the program freezes and
does not respond. it does this so much that i cant do
anything at all. please help! movie maker 1 is the only
program that works with digital video imported from the
sony handycam...MM2 is not compatible for some reason-it
says the collection has "too many things to fire from a
location" or something like that. please help!

this computer is new and no other programs ever freeze.

Could be you need to set your virtual memory larger (2x ram) and not
let windows manage it. That is what cured my freezing problem. I
have a half gig of ram and I guess that is not enough for the MM2 hog.
I checked my cpu useage while running MM2 and it takes 100%. So, I
don't try to run anything else when using MM2.
