while in moviemaker 1, i have an audio clip in the
timeline view and i place a movie file over the top. when
i preview it will work fine but when i hit stop and click
the timeline to edit a clip the program will crash back
to my desktop. it is becoming very frustrating. if there
is a simple solution then any help would be appriciated.
thank you

I have same prob with movie maker 2. I can play, re
arrange and save video clips but.....the minute I try to
use video effects or any thing else the program crashes
to desktop!
When I have saved a set of clips, they are converted as
Windows movie maker projects, but this format is not
supported by Microsft media player!!!
Very frustrating...I'll have to get software from a
different company as MS are crap. You'd think that their
own software packages would recognise each other.

A Movie Maker project is NOT a movie and thus is not recognized by Media
Player. If you want your clips saved into a movie, you choose "Save Movie"
on the File menu and then you are given a choice as to what format you want.
This is what you open in Media Player.

As for the program crashing...Video editing is probably the most demanding
thing you can ask your computer to do. Do you have enough RAM, a good
enough hard drive with a powerful enough processor to do the task? If not,
the crashing is common.

when i try and install MM2 i get an error saying the
there is not enough free disk space, which there is
(around 8gb) or the Cabinet file is corrupted. so i
cannot upgrade. i have searched about this error but have
found nothing. is there any way i can get a new cabinet
file?
