Movie Make Capture Problems

This is probably the wrong group for this question, but perhaps
someone can help.

I am outputing a movie from my laptop and capturing it on my PC. The
normal laptop output is available on the PC but as soon as i start the
mpg file the screen on the PC remains black although all the rest of
the media player from the laptop is visible.

Any help will be gratefully received.

sorry, but your question is unclear

are you sending s-video or firewire or rca out of your laptop, of the laptop
screen?
.... using a 'screen-capture' program?
.... do you have a 'capture card'?

"capturing" usually refers to analog to digital conversion (AD)
