Adding movie clips to Power Point

I received a presentation that already contains movie clips. I want to add
some of my own clips (*.mpg files) to the presesntation but they won't play.
They do play in Windows media player but when I put them into the
presentation all I get is a black screen? How do I load my new .mpg files
into the power point?
