Movie clips slow loading in power point

I have completed a power point presentation with video clips but the video
clips are very slow to open when I run the slide show. Screen goes black for
about 30 secs to 1 min before the video clip plays & quite often hangs?

Are the clips on a CD or hard drive? CD files are much slower to load.

You could also try
Defrag the hard drive
Put video in same folder as presentation

Hi John,
Thanks - have tried both but makes no difference. Problem seems to be
related to my new laptop as works fine on desktop. Wondering if maybe related
to codecs?

I am thinking it's a codec issue or a video hardware accelertion issue. Try
turning the acceleration down. As to the codec, what type of video file is
it? (Mpg, AVI, WMV, etc.)

Hi Austin, Thanks
Turning acceleration down did not fix. File is WMV & works fine with Windows
Media Player but not when inserted in PowerPoint?
Cheers

Created using Pinnacle Studio 9.4, size 20mb at highest quality. If I reduce
quality to lowest it loads slightly quicker but is unusable
