Movie Clips in Power Point

I am running Powerpoint 2000 and for years have had DVD movie clips within
the presentation. I got an new DVD program which will convert DVD's to
shorter clips much faster than before. However, when I inserted into the
program, the sound ran and the first frame of video but the video did not
advance. What is the powerpoint requirements for video compression? Will an
upgrade to 2003 make a difference

Are you saying you "ripped" the DVD contents to your hard drive?

It sounds to me like you have identified the issue, your new software is
making an incompatible file.
