move xp pro to new machine

my gateway profile cpu's back lite on the flat screen
broke. rather than fix the gateway can i install the xp
pro on a new machine. this xp pro came with the gateway.
help

If XP came installed on the Gateway, it's tied to the
bios and you can't install it on another machine. This
is an OEM edition.

You'll have to purchase a new copy of XP to use on
another machine.
