Move roaming to local profile

Several users were set up with roaming profiles. I want to move them local
profiles. Other than changing "type" in User Profiles settings what else
should be done? Will making the change automatically copy the existing
profile data to the local machine? Any 'gotcha's' I should be aware of?

A Roaming profile is on the local machine. It is copied from/to the server at logon/off. A local profile has a local and but no server address in it's settings - so the copying is omitted.

Look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-19 (or whatever account you want) and the CentralProfile value is where the profile is copied to/from. If blank it is a local profile. ProfileImagePath is the local address for both types of profile.
