I am on a windows 98 se system with OE 6.0. I have a new XP pro system. I
ran the XP pro file transfer wizard to move over settings from Windows 98.
Seems to have worked for the most part.

What did not come over was a number of *.dbx files in c:windows\application
data\microsoft\outlook express\ . A number of these are quite large and seem
to be made up of pictures or mail. I burned the whole folder to a CD. I want
to move over to an XP pro machine with only one user. What do I need to do?

Thanks.

First you need to create folders of the EXACT same name(s) as the one you
have backed up, in OE. Then put a junk message (any message you don't care
about will do) in each of these folders. Then, in OE, go to tools, options,
maintenance, store folder and highlight, right click, and copy the WHOLE
path it lists. Now close OE open up an explorer window (or my computer, my
documents, etc...) and paste the path and hit enter. Now copy the backed up
folders (*.dbx files) over the ones listed here.
That's it. Good Luck.
