Move Bitlocker Startup Key

Hi, when I setup bitlocker I put the startup key on a large USB drive which
I also use for files. I now relize that it better to have it on it's own
memory stick.

I have duplicated the key to my stick and can now startup using either. How
do I delete the key from the first drive?

Hello,

* if you have no other files on it currently, just format it: Start -> type
cmd.exe -> right-click the cmd.exe -> click "Run as administrator" -> format
<yourUSBstickVolume>: -> Enter.
* if you have other files there, secure them onto your harddrive and then
format the memory stick, and copy your files back.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I was wondering if that was the best option but I
have over 100 gig of data on it so is there some other way without
reformatting or starting the whole process again?

Go to Start/Computer. On the toolbar just go to Tools/Folder Options/View
and show hidden files and folders, click OK - look in your drive for a file
with lots of letters and numbers mixed...delete. You should be able to
identify it by the time and date it was made.

If your menu bar isn't showing in Windows Explorer then click
Organize/Layour and check "Menu Bar".

Hi, I've done that and the only file I could find was a text document with
the Password which I moved to the other drive. I could not find any other
file. The memory stick only contains one visible file even with show hidden
files enabled.

additionally to Peter's solution (what I'd have never thought of), find
these files:
bootwiz.sys
bootwiz.cfg
mouse.com
bootmenu.exe
menulogo.png
win_icon.png
bootmenu.xml
C1.png
SPL1.EXE
exe2.exe
C2.png
SPL2.EXE
dat3.dat
dat4.dat
C3.png
SPL4.EXE
exe5.exe
C4.png
SPL5.EXE
exe6.exe

They are all listed on my BitLocker starting stick and I think you can
delete them, too.

Hello,

try unchecking "Hide protected operating system files..." in the same
folder options window.
Then, at least one additional file should show up.
