Mouse-wheel scroll resets to 1

Hi. On my mouse wheel settings in the mouse applet in the control panel, the
number of lines to scroll is reset to 1 every time i reboot the computer. I
want this setting to be 3 but it just doesnt get saved.

Check your settings here: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse

Also, run this edit:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

If none of the above helps, there is an ongoing issue with one of the latest
updates. Good luck!
