Mouse settings, Pointer Options, Snap To

Have new laptop, xp home. The SNAP TO feature listed under POINTER OPTIONS
disengages frequently, randomly. Is there a fix for this? Using a USB mouse.
 
I had same problem then I updated my mouse driver and now my snapto button
works.
Dell inspiron 1501
 
Discovered another setting in the mouse menu that must be activated. There
are 2 settings which must be used.
