can any one help me with my mouse pointer setttings, its been working ok up
until monday, when i go to try & change the settings, i keep geting the error
message: the c:\windows\cursor\harrow.cur file, which contains 'the normal
slect' cursor, is either missing or corrrupt. it pops this error message up
with every pointer setting. i am quite new to computers, so any advice on how
to rectify this problem would be much appreciated. thanks.

It appears that Windows is having difficulty finding the specified cursors.
You will need to specify new ones. To do this, open My Computer and in the
address bar, type "Mouse" (without the quotes). Click 'OK' on any error
messages that appear. After all the error messages have passed, select from
the drop-down 'Windows Default (system scheme)' and click 'Apply' on the
Mouse Properties window. All the cursors should be set back to there default
now. You can now customize them by clicking on the cursor you whish to
modify and by then clicking 'Browse...' and choosing the cursor you want. Or
you can just use one of the other pre-defined sets of cursors by choosing
them from the drop-down menu. When you are all finished, click 'OK'.

Since Windows was having trouble finding the specified cursors, they may
have been deleted and/or corrupted. And since 'C:WINDOWS\Cursors\harrow.cur'
is a system default cursor, you may need to replace them. To do this,
download the following file and extract it into your 'C:\WINDOWS' directory.
