mouse/pointer

i have a touchpad on my laptop that if i leave the
pointer on anything for anytime it switches to that link
or window w/o actually clicking on it. is there a way to
shut this off and a require a 'click' to activate the
link or window??

This is likely controlled by your touchpad driver. Check to see if a driver
installed by going to Control Panel (classic view). Look for an item for
your touchpad driver. (Also, sometimes, custom Touchpad settings get put
into the Mouse item.)
