Mouse pointer

I prefer my pointer to go to the default button.. I can go into mouse
properties and accomplish this, but every time I reboot the machine, I have
to go into mouse properties and reset this... is there something in my
profile that resets when the machine is turned off and back on???

After you select the Windows Default option for the Pointer, click
Apply and OK. This "should" set and save settings.

Unfortunatly this is the procdure I have been using, for some reason the
next time I reboot, the box is un-checked... I'm just wondering if for some
reason my preferances would be returned to the original configuration when I
reboot the machine... Dell wants me re-install windows (AGAIN!!!)

I have this same exact problem! I am not at all interested in reinstalling
XP. Did you get resolution???

Are you on a network? There might be a network policy overriding your
setting.
Are you signed in as administrator? You might not have permission to save
changes.

No... I'm still working on it.. really a minor issue in comparison to
reinstalling windows. I just wonder if, when reinstalling windows the last
time, I deslected the capability to modify items such as this... I am not on
a network (other then the wireless in my home)....

I'm not on a network either.

I have two laptops both just a few weeks old and only the one has this
problem.
