Mouse Over effects stopped working

Recently I cannot add mouse over effects to text in any webpage I develop. I
have done this in the past. FOr some reason the dhtml minu is grey and when I
highlight text to do mouse over effects it stays grey and wont allow the
function. I am not using css. I am using FP 2002. Any Ideas on why this is
happening? I appreciate any response for anyone.

Make sure the compatibility is set to custom in Tools > Page options > Authoring

Thanks Steve. The problem turned out to be due to the fact that the complete
DHTML menu bar was not vivibal. I went in and added a portion of the menu bar
and it works great. Thanks for the help.
