Mouse & keyboard freeze

I just got my laptop from repair (new hard disk) and installed windows XP pro
with the PC manufactors CD's. Now the mouse and keyboard freeze frequently,
although I see the computer going on with any processes I had on. ALmost 50%
of the times this happens is when I click on the start menu button. I tried
installing all windows updates and even reinstalled windows, but this still
keeps happeining.

Could the problem be in the manufators CD's or in the new hard disk? What
shouyld I do?
 
Well, they're freezing because it's getting colder and it's that time of
year.
 
could be a virus - if you have an anti virus package installed do a complete
scan - there was a Beagle virus just recently that seemed to freeze things
up. Have fun.
