mouse hovers over the buttons

This new site will not keep the menu buttons still / normal on the left
hand side?
When the mouse hovers over the buttons / menu the buttons move all over the
page.
How can those problems be solved?

The buttons are not moving all over the page - the hovered buttons are
missing, and you are seeing the placeholder instead of the button.

The HTML has had all whitespace removed - this makes it difficult to see
what images are missing, or if they are merely misplaced. Removing all
whitespace can have a bad effect on some browsers which have a line length
limit.
