mouse hover auto-select

Normally there is a delay of a second or so when the mouse
pointer hovers over a shortcut or file etc. before it
becomes selected. My PC has changed so that the selection
is instant. This is incredibly awkward.
How to I set the delay back to normal?

Download and install TweakUI from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Open the Mouse tree and click on Hover.

The default hover time seems to be 400ms, but I prefer 200ms.
