mouse cursor sometimes goes crazy

Since last week my mouse cursor sometimes goes crazy, travels on its own and
even seems to close down some applications so I have to re-boot.
I reckon I got some some virus - does the symptoms sound familiar and what
antidote can be recommended?
I have Innoculate on all the time and I run it separately on my drives - it
detected nothing

It may not be that complex. Try a new/different mouse first. -- Steve
