Mouse Clicks

Hi All,

I returned to my PC last night to discover my mouse was working in a very
strange way - I have tried several different mice and found all to be
effected - therefore I suspect I have a windows issue.

When I click (Left is the regular click for me) a shortcut icon on my
desktop, it brings up the properties form of that shortcut. When I right
click the shortcut icon I see a quick flash of a menu. I cannot left click
the start button but have to hold the Ctrl key down to bring up the start
menu. I can access Help and some other links from here but not the most
recently use programmes list on the left of the start menu. Yet I can left
click on system tray icons such as Norton and run a virus scan no problem -
by the way this did not show up any viruses.

I have tried to activate a system restore point to the last known working
point, but when I click the "Next" button on the System Restore Wizard
nothing happens.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Be sure that the virus definition is latest,also scan with latest
versions of Spybot,Search and Destroy,CWShredder as well as with
Adaware.Run all of them in Safe mode.
Next uninstall/reinstall/update the mouse driver.
If all fails then check your mouse in another PC or bring another mouse
to test on your PC.
