Mouse and/or keyboard stops responding

Hi. We have just purchased new Windows XP Pro systems that
we are using with USB mice and keyboards. We have had at
least 3 or 4 different machines that, all of a sudden, the
mouse and/or keyboard stops responding. Originally, we
thought that it was the monitor causing the problems, (had
the devices plugged into USB ports on monitors), but we
are getting the same result if the devices are in the USB
ports on the back of the CPU. In device manager,
everything looks OK. Has anyone else had this problem??
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance !

Jennifer, rt click on MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device
Manager>USB Controllers. rt click
on each one and choose Uninstall. Restart and let XP reinstall them.
