Mouse and Keyboard Freezes when I have Belkin Wireless USB 54Mbps adapater plugged in

Hello,
This just started happening on my wife's computer. First the mouse
would freeze for no reason at all. I did notice that if I started XP
in Safe Mode without networking, then the mouse worked. WHen I started
in Safe Mode with networking, mouse wouldn't work. Ok, so if I take
out the Belkin USB adapter, in regular mode, the mouse worked. Up to
this point the keyboard always worked.

I decided to re-install XP (formatted drive and everything). Same
problem. Did things like re-install the Via 4-in-1 drivers, got
windows Update, etc. the Mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Optical mouse,
and I tried it in the USB port and in the PS/2 port using the adapter
that came with it: same thing. I also tried it with 2 other PS/2 mice:
same thing. I put the Belkin 54mbps wireless usb adapter in another
computer and it works fine.

Funny thing is now after trying a few things, when I have the Belkin
adapter in there, the keyboard doesn't work when the mouse doesn't
work. As soon as I take out the Belkin adapter, the mouse and keyboard
works (in ps/2 mode, I have to to reboot to get the mouse working).

Anyone have any ideas.

Thanks
