Hi!
I have a strange problem with my mouse acceleration settings. I have the
cursor speed set to max and the acceleration to high, but in some
applications the speed automatically turns to low and acceleration
apparently disables. However, there is no reason to believe that these
applications intentionally mangle my mouse settings.
One example is PicaJet image viewer and album. When I switch to this
application, the mouse starts moving very slowly. Opening the mouse
properties I see that the settings are intact, but changing them back and
forth (to low, then to high) doesn't have any effect.
This sometimes happens randomly in other applications. Often clicking the
right mouse button to bring the context sensitive menu (any menu) will
reset the speed to the preferred high. However, this doesn't work in
PicaJet. Switching between applications usually (but not always) resets
the speed to high.
Another application that is noted for problems is CrimsonLand arcade game
(fullscreen). Quite often the speed is low when I launch it, a few
restarts often help (the game has internal mouse sensitivity control, but
apprently its effect is cumulative with the system settings).
I have two mouses installed, one is Logitech Cordless PS/2, which is not
connected, another is Logitech USB (which I use). I am not sure that
Windows has truly separe settings for them, but I have both set to high
speed/acceleration using the dropdown control in the Device tab of the
Mouse properties dialog.
If anyone could provide any suggestions on what may be the solution to
this problem, I would be extremely grateful. This truly drives me nuts.
