Has any one experienced any problem with it on XP besides the fact that it
need Administrator privileges to run under XP Pro?

In my case, it keep corrupting itself to the point where it quits working. I
re-installed it again and that seamed to fix the problem, but after a few
days of playing it start to do strange things. eg. the accelerator stops
working, etc. I have removed it now because it needs Administrator
privileges which leaved the door wide open to corrupting the OS.

I had similar problems with MCM1 under Win98 where it would corrupt Win98 to
the point that the PC became unusable.

BTW. MS games are the only ones I ever had any problems with under either
OS. My kids have a load of other games and none of them has ever caused any
problems. Coincidence?

Thanks.

What exactly do you mean by 'corrupting'? Do the files actually become
'corrupted'?

Are you sure this isn't a hardware issue? For a game to take out a system
is very 'odd'. May be your HDD is on it's way out? Tried running check
disc? May be there is an issue with the IDE controller, tried getting the
latest drivers for it?

You clearly haven't had an EA game then. ;-)

Well ... I've been playing MCM2 on Zone.com for something over 3 years now
.... and I can't say I've come across or heard of that particular issue in
all that time. Didn't have a problem with MCM1 either for that matter,
although I played that less.

There ARE known XP/Zone issues however ... the main one being the hyperbike.
Some info on that can be found at
http://supon.telenet.be/zonehelp.htm#hyperbike

The only other real issue I've come across myself is not being able to
launch single player events where you have a substantial amount of custom
tracks in the event type (Nat, SX, Baja etc) folder.

Maybe a bit more of an explanation from the original poster will narrow the
problem down a bit ...

As far as the games is concerned: by corrupt, I mean it does not work
properly and eventually does not run at all. It either crashes or freezes or
some of the functions stop working, etc. In the case of the O/S, Win98, it
caused it to freeze and crash. I have two different computers one is brand
new. The reason I know it is not hardware is because, these are the only two
games, I ever had any problem with. Yes, I have several EA games and never
had any problems with them. But, I suppose this goes to show that not
everyone has the same experiences with the same product.

Thanks.

What hardware is in the machine, and what other games do you have?

most EA games don't have patches because they"re perfect as is( sarcasm
off)... :)

If it's crashing a lot, then that's possibly what's corrupting the game. I
personally wouldn't discount a hardware issue so quickly.

Have you tried formatting and reinstalling XP? Don't upgrade over a
previous OS ... it's not recommended and will likely cause problems in the
future.

Try testing your RAM: http://www.memtest86.com/

I would suggest checking all your hardware ... there's plenty of diagnostics
programs around ... I'm sure someone has a handy link.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date and preferably WHQL certified.
