Motion Path Object Disappears for an Instant after mouse click

I've added a "down" motion path to an object. When I run the slide, th
object disappears for about a second before the animation starts t
play. I can't seem to find a reason. The animation works perfectl
other than that. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or found
solution?

Discovered today that the length of time the object disappears i
directly related to the speed selected for the animation - with ver
fast selected, the object only disappears for half a second - with slo
selected, the object disappers for 2-3 seconds. The delay is set t
zero, so that's not the problem. Does anyone have an idea?

You might try checking the "smooth start" option for the motion path.

Your slide may be set up in such a way that you need to add an "appear"
animation to the object before you have it motion down the path.

Thanks Echo. Looks like the appear effect was the answer. Much
appreciated. I'd have gone batty trying to figure that one out.
