Motherboards with ecc ram support

I think I want to buy this motherboard:

ASUS M5A88-V EVO AM3+ AMD 880G HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD
Motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131733

The Newegg web site does not say if it supports ecc ram. The ASUS
web site also does not say. How can I learn if this motherboard
supports ecc ram?

Is there a list of modern motherboards or chipsets that support ecc
ram? Thank you in advance for all replies.

User manual.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM3+/M5A88-V_EVO/E6530_M5A88-V_EVO.zip

"... maximum 16GB unbuffered ECC and non-ECC DDR3"

So it does appear to support ECC.

And unusual for Asus, the ECC BIOS screen is even documented in that
manual. There have been cases in the last few years, where the ECC
screen wasn't depicted in the manual, leaving a user to wonder
whether the ECC support was real or not.

The ECC support is part of the processor design. All it required is
wiring of ECC lanes to the four DIMM sockets, BIOS support, and OS
support.

On Intel processors, the ECC may be present in the processor design,
enabled on server SKUs and disabled on desktop SKUs. Whether that
helps consumers, is up for interpretation. Intel makes the decision
for you. AMD leaves it up to you.

When you were at Newegg, its Details tab has a link to the product page.
If you went there, the Download tab lets you get the manual so you could
search the .pdf on "ecc" to read the specs and BIOS config description.
