Most recent service pack?

Hey,

I just recently recovered Windows Xp on my laptop. I do not know if after
the updates, I have the most recent service pack.

In Windows explorer I found I have version 5.1 en service pack 2.
Does anyone knows if this is most recent verson/service pack?

SP2 is the most recent service pack for Windows XP. There have been a
number of updates since the release of SP2 so you'll want to get those.
SP3 has been announced but won't be released until some time next year.

Sp2 is the most recent Service Pack, so you have that.

There are a number of subsequent updates - perhaps between 80 and 100 - that
also apply once SP2 is installed.

If you have anything other than a high-speed internet connection, it's
perhaps better to try to take your laptop to a place where high-speed is
available to you for the couple of hours needed for the subsequent updates.
Perhaps a friend's home; you can set up the laptop to get updates, then have
dinner, watch a movie, while occasionally giving the laptop the clicks it
wants to proceed.

Yes, SP2 is the most recent, 3 isn't due out till 2008.

In checking my windows XP Pro with all service packs and updates, this
is what it is reporting:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Service Pack 2
20040803.231319
Internet Explorer:
7.0.5730.11

Because you have Service Pack 2, just check Windows Update to see if
there is anything there for you.

Yes it is. However there are post-sp2 updates that you should also be
sure you have. Check at Microsoft Update.
