for some reason this is popping up when select a page to
browse (I use google most of the time). I am awfully
careful about virus def updates and scanning, and have
never been advbised of a problem. What to do? I'm also
getting a ton of Runtime errors (Do you want to debug) --
aned I have made the adjustments more everyone recommends
in Advanced tab..

First rule out parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Thanks for an amazing deep response. I have learned that
disabling the Explorer Bar is the ultimate goal....the
problem is that the option "None" is not available on my
Explorer Bar (per KB#171232 it should be).

So I thought I had done all recommended steps to
Tools/Advanced, but the 3rd party extensions tip was new,
so I'll try that. I'm already using Ad Aware and Spybot,
but just added them a week or two ago so maybe some
damage had already been done.

If the '3rd Party Extnesions' removal does not work, I'll
try the other steps and (hopefully) send you a thank you
note when it is fixed!

I appreciate your response.

Mr. LeBoeuf:

Thanks again for this response. However, the answer is
that someone, sometime, with or without their own
knowledge but definitely without MY knowledge, allowed
the installation of something called "MoreResults.exe."

I was able to uninstall this through Control Panel.

As knowledgeable as you are, I thought you might like to
know this in case it surfaces again.

Regards,

Greg
