I've got a laser printer that I print everything on, and I've never replaced or refilled any of the toners yet. Even after printing 3 different thesis (100's of pages) a few times each it still was fine.

However, it looked like it was running out last week... so I took the toner out and shook it. I've just had a few hundred more pages before it looks like it's given up!

Bargain :D

my mates parents have a laser printer, i remember asking him if it was really worth it and he replied with a printer log saying it'd done 2000 or so pages on one toner!!

needless to say he won that argument lol

My Brother HL2030 mono laser printer gets used almost daily, do all my work stuff on it and lots more.

One toner cartridge lasts me at least a year. They cost £45.00.

I've been thinking about buying a colour laser printer, probably a budget model Samsung or HP, and I noted with some amusement that the 4 toner cartridges in each case actually cost a little more than the printer itself.

And one thing to note is the cartridges supplied with most colour laser printers are only around a a third full.

only a third full how do you know that?

I got a wicked deal, got myself a canon laser jet printer oh she's so fast and she only cost me a twenty quid

Because I am intelligent and all knowing beyond your wildest imagination.

Well, ok, no, it's because the sales spec tells you this thing :p

Funny you mention it, this was the colour Samsung CLP500 - cost about £150 two years ago. Printed LOADS from it on the starter toners (1/3 full as you say) and it more than paid for itself in thesis printing (would have cost me £20 a go at uni).

Bought a full new set of toners from ebay for just over £100 this week, which although expensive initially will mean it lasts for about 5 years+ (working out more cost effective than an inkjet) :thumb:
