Thank goodness for this forum. I was a first time user the other day and this group solved what Dell of India could not. The problem was the 15 second delay - turned out to be embedded ad/spyware.

No maker wants to admit shipping their machines in an insecure state, in
fact I'll go further and say "Easily compromised" state, but neither do they
want lots of people asking "Why can my friends see this and I can't".

In fact I have pretty secure settings (not the safest but a compromise) and
don't miss much at all except web page trojans and spyware <g> so I can't
see why makers aren't more careful.

Look around this forum and see how many posts are related to spyware, and
it's getting worse, yet nobody really tries to inform people.

ever heard of the story of india tech support. take the
person teach them english. get rid of the accent. and pay
them more than they would earn in a lifetime . but, but
they use too many stock answers such as do a repair cd or
we only act like we are computer literate. now long
distance ads say phone to india for 46 cents a minute so
you keep them on the line long enough to have dell or
whoever pay out more money to make up for the waste of your
time.
