Months have changed - upper left corner

M

mcadwell

It used to be that I only had one month showing in the upper left corner of
my calendar. All of a sudden now three are showing, going vertically down the
pane. How do I get it to go back to the way it was?

I have Outlook 2003, no other changes have been done to the computer and
rebooting didn't fix it.

Sounds like you make have collapsed the Navigator Pane view buttons. Click on
and drag upward the top edge of the button pane.

"may have", not "make have".

Thank you for the reply but this didn't help. My left panel is, going
vertically from top to bottom, the navigation calendar months, My Calendars,
Other Calendars, with the Navigator Pane View Buttons at the very bottom.

Pulling up the Navigator Pane View buttons didn't do anything but cover up
more of the Other Calendars section.

Click View. Is Taskpad checked or unchecked? If checked, uncheck it. What
do you see?

M

Taskpad is unchecked - there isn't a calendar or task viewing pane on the
right side.

After asking more coworkers about this issue (as I cannot find anything on
it when searching online) I have found that many of them have different
"settings" for their calendars in the navigation pane - without having to
pull the divider to the right.

One has one calendar showing in the top left. One has three calendars going
down vertically. One has two vertically. Now all of us are wondering how to
change this.

Are you all using the same version of Outlook and all using the exact same
view?

Sounds like View, "To Do Bar", Options, Date navigator are set to
"unchecked", 3 and 2 respectively.

Thank you Bob, but I don't see the "To Do Bar" anywhere under View. I am

Right-click the TaskPad's header line, choose Customize Current View, click
Other Settings, and check the box labeled "Show 'new item' row".

M

Brian, I tried "Right-click the TaskPad's header line, choose Customize
Current View, click Other Settings, and check the box labeled "Show 'new
item' row"
and nothing changed at all.

Any other suggestions please?

Was that option already selected?

Did you right click on the row of field names in the taskpad and choose
customize, then other settings?

(please include the entire thread in the replies so everyone knows what was
suggested and what you tried)

No! That is highly unlikely to fix it. A new profile will, but that can
introduce other problems. You'e better off learning how to find the menus
and fix it.

http://www.xsolive.com/Outlook Screen shots/todooptions.png - this has
two screenshots - one for the tasks, one for to-do options. I added the blue
dots, red and green circles to the screenshot to highlight where you should
be right clicking (blue dot in red circle) and the command you need once the
menu is open.

Ok, when I log into another computer I get the normal one thumbnail
calendar.
So am assuming my outlook profile, or user profile on my computer needs to
be
rebuilt.
I did what I was asked to do: "Right-click the TaskPad's header line,
choose
Customize
Current View, click Other Settings, and check the box labeled "Show 'new
item' row"

As I am not familiar with TaskPad I don't know what "row of field names"
is.
Did you right click on the row of field names in the taskpad and choose
customize, then other settings?

That dialog is from the taskpad's view? If from the taskpad, reset the
view - if that doesn't help, reboot the computer then start outlook using
the /cleanviews command.

Thank you very much for the help Diane, however I had already done the
Customize Current View portion. I included an image (named Outlook 2003
TaskPad - Other Settings) to show that it was already checkmarked.

And Outlook 2003 doesn't have a To-Do Bar. Otherwise this would be a
perfect
fix.

BTW - which side of the screen is the problem? The left is the navigation
pane - the right is where the taskpad is.
See http://www.xsolive.com/Outlook Screen shots/2003tasks.png (you'll
need to zoom it in the browser to read the comments.) Which screen shot do
you have now and which do you want?

The thumbnail calendar issue is from the navigation pane (I don't use

So the problem is you have 3 calendar thumbnails on the left and only want
1? How many you see is controlled by the amt of stuff in the navigation
pane. More calendar folders in the list = fewer thumbnail calendars. Views
list (View menu, show in navigation pane command) = fewer calendars. Taller
window = room for more calendars.

You'll also get more calendars in a row if the navigation pane is wide
enough to show more than 1.
